*CALL TO WORSHIP
Now is the moment of grace.
This is the hour of blessing.
Today is the day of salvation.
Here is the path to new life.
Already joy is abounding, and love is flowing.
For this is the day God is making.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
OPENING PRAYER
Eternal God, you bring light out of darkness and hope out of despair.
Share your love with us this day that we may better love each other.
Touch our hearts;
help our love shine forth in a world hungry to know your love.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
CALL TO CONFESSION
SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O God,
we confess the blindness that is not even aware of sinning;
the pride that dares not admit that it is wrong;
the selfishness that can see nothing but its own will;
the righteousness that knows no fault;
the callousness that has ceased to care;
the defiance that does not regret its own sins;
the evasion that always tries to make excuses;
the coldness of heart that is too hardened to repent.
God, we are sinners; be merciful to us.
Forgive us.
Renew us with your Spirit.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
*PASSING OF THE PEACE
(Worshipers are invited to share the peace of Christ with those worshiping around them.)
The peace of Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.
