GREETINGS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
We need this kind of hope.
Come; worship the Holy One who meets you where you are.
Come; open yourselves to the God who lifts us up.
We are here to worship.
We are here to surrender to God.
We are here to give ourselves to God.
Opening Prayer
God of Presence,
as you walked upon the water to meet the disciples,
meet us in the midst of the storms in our lives.
God of Renewal,
as you lifted Peter from the water,
lift us from despair to hope,
from distraction to focus,
from death to life.
God of the Journey,
direct us in your way,
work out your purpose in and through our lives.
We pray in the name of Christ
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
*OPENING HYMN Morning Has Broken
Morning has broken
Like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken
Like the first bird.
Praise for the singing!
Praise for the morning!
Praise for them, springing
Fresh from the Word!
Sweet the rain’s new fall
Sunlit from Heaven,
Like the first dewfall
On the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness
Of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness
Where his feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight,
Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light
Eden saw play.
Praise with elation,
Praise every morning,
God’s re-creation
CALL TO CONFESSION
*SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious, inviting God,
you continually provide us with opportunities
to practice generous hospitality.
But our fear of difference, reluctance to share,
and desire to be in control
make our welcome appear weak and insincere.
We have difficulty honoring the stranger as a sacred guest
who bears the face of Christ.
We miss opportunities to receive the gifts that such guests offer us.
Forgive us, O God, for focusing on the wrong things.
Show us how to do what is right. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
*PASSING OF THE PEACE
(Worshipers are invited to share the peace of Christ.)
The peace of the risen Christ be with you.
And also with you.

Prepare our hearts, O God, to accept your Word.

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

*CLOSING HYMN Lord, You Have Come to the Lakeshore
Lord, You have come to the lakeshore
Looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones
You only asked me to follow humbly
O Lord, with Your eyes You have searched me
And while smiling have spoken my name
Now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me
By Your side I will seek other seas
You know so well my possessions
My boat carries no gold and no weapons
You will find there, my nets and labor
You need my hands full of caring
Through my labors to give others rest
And constant love that keeps on loving
O Lord, with Your eyes You have searched me
And while smiling have spoken my name
Now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me
By Your side I will seek other seas
You, who have fished other oceans
Ever longed for by souls who are waiting
My loving friend, as thus You call me
