More about our outreach Ministries

Our Good Samaritan Ministry offers need-based utility assistance for those living in the Hermitage and Old Hickory areas.  Ministry members are available to take applications and discuss assistance on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church office. Please bring your most recent utility bill and a picture ID.

The Food Pantry at The Hermitage Presbyterian Church is open each week on Friday from 10 a.m. till noon.  We provide bags of non-perishable food items to residents of the Hermitage and Old Hickory area.

For the past several years, we have partnered with Tulip Grove Elementary School in order to meet the expressed needs of the children that attend this school in our own backyard.

Members of the Hermitage Presbyterian Church partner with Hermitage Church of Christ Meals on Wheels program to provide the seniors in our neighborhood a hot meal, but also (and perhaps more importantly) human contact with someone every day.

The Hermitage Presbyterian Church participates by assisting St. John’s Lutheran Church with their Sunday night Room in the Inn program (November through March.)

Two different groups use the facilities at The Hermitage Presbyterian Church for A.A. Meetings. The Sunday Evening Men's group meets at 8 p.m. and also includes an AlAnon meeting.  A Ladies only group meets Mondays and Thursdays at 12 noon. For more information contact Alcoholics Anonymous or send us an email and we can connect you to a group leader.

The Hermitage Presbyterian Church has sponsored Boy Scout Troop #263 since November 1987. The church now also charters a Venture Crew #263 for boys and girls ages 14-21 with a focus on backpacking.

For several years, members of The Hermitage Presbyterian Church have packed shoeboxes each November to provide hope to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child.
