“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
SUNDAY SCHOOL for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday
SUMMER ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS:
The Rev. John Kaufman will continue to teach this class and welcomes all who would like to join a discussion of the book of Matthew. His class is just beginning a study of Matthew’s Gospel from Scratch, by Donald L. Griggs. In September we will resume with at least two adult classes, the Literature Class, taught by Mike Jones, and the Bible and Doctrine Class taught by the Rev. John Kaufman.
CURRENT CHILDREN AND YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES: A team of church members teaches the middle school Sunday school class and Ellen Deathridge teaches a younger elementary class.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT HPC – our favorite mid-week activity during the months of September through May. Join us at 6:00 p.m.for food, fellowship, inter-generational fun, service projects and Bible Study. Supper is either catered by local caterers or prepared in our kitchen and served buffet style at a cost of $6 per adult. Thanks to donations by church members, supper is free for kids 16 and under. At 6:45 Pastor Jule is leading an interactive adult study of the Gospel of Luke, especially emphasizing the wisdom and insight we can apply to our daily lives from this gospel’s presentation of Christ’s ministry. At the same time, youth and children will be doing service projects. Some examples of the types of projects are Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, care packages for college students, clean-up projects at our facility, and holiday parties for residents at McKendree Village Retirement Center.
